Biography
Mr. Thomas Soper, a native of Freehold, NJ, holds a B.A. in English Literature from Rutgers University, and an M.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing from Temple University. Additionally, he studied for a secondary education teaching certification at the University of Pennsylvania and Chestnut Hill College. Thomas joined the Friends' Central community as an upper school English and homeroom teacher in September 2017, when he also assumed his duties as Focus co-adviser. Thomas brings editorial experience to the role, having served a medical publishing company in New York, and having been an editor for a professor in the graduate school of education at the University of Pennsylvania. He enjoys embarking on long distance cycling excursions, hiking in the woods, and taking in the culture on offer in Philadelphia. He also has two children who attend FCS: son Milo (6th grade) and daughter Junah (4th grade).
